What the app does
Present is a phone-down presence timer. You choose who you're spending time with, set a duration, and put your phone face down. The app tracks how long your session ran and how many times it was interrupted. That's it.
What data we collect
None. Present collects no personal information whatsoever. There are no accounts, no sign-ins, no analytics SDKs, no crash reporters, and no network requests of any kind.
What stays on your device
Session history (session type, start time, duration, and interruption count) is stored only on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. Deleting the app permanently deletes all session history. Nothing is backed up to our servers because we have no servers.
Screen Time access
Present optionally uses Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) framework to block distracting apps while a session is running. This permission is requested the first time you start a session and can be denied without affecting the core timer.
When Screen Time access is granted, Present uses it only to place a temporary shield over other apps during an active session. It does not read your app usage history, screen time reports, or any other data collected by the Screen Time system. The shield is removed the moment your session ends.
Notifications
Present may request notification permission to alert you when a timed session reaches its planned end. Notification permission is entirely optional. No notification data leaves your device.
Third parties
Present uses no third-party SDKs, analytics tools, ad networks, or cloud services. Apple handles the App Store distribution; we never see your payment details.
Children
Present is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date above.
